MyBookShelf

Delete your account or library data

MyBookShelf supports account and data deletion both inside the app and through this web page. If you still have app access, the fastest option is to use the in-app deletion flow. If you no longer have the app, you can request deletion by email from here.

Guest use still creates an anonymous Firebase account and stores an account-scoped library in the cloud. Uninstalling the app does not delete that account or its cloud data, so use the in-app deletion flow before uninstalling whenever possible.

Option 1: Delete from inside the app

  1. Open MyBookShelf.
  2. Tap the top-right account icon.
  3. Open Settings & Privacy.
  4. Tap Delete account and library.
  5. Confirm the deletion request.

This removes synced books, lending records, and uploaded cover images associated with that app account or guest library. Wait for the app to confirm that deletion succeeded before uninstalling it.

Option 2: Request deletion by email

If you no longer have access to the app, email bilalmanisa@gmail.com with the subject MyBookShelf Account Deletion Request.

Include enough information to help identify the correct account, such as:

  • the email address used with Google or Apple sign-in, if any
  • the Firebase user ID or support identifier, if available
  • the approximate date of your last use
  • whether the account was a guest or a signed-in account

An anonymous guest account may not be identifiable or verifiable from an email address after the app is removed. Guest users should therefore delete from inside the app whenever possible.

What is deleted: your books and library metadata, lending records (including any borrower names, phone numbers, and email addresses you entered), uploaded cover images, your account profile/sign-in record, and the active server-side subscription entitlement record. In-app deletion starts when you confirm and ordinarily completes promptly. If the app reports an error, some data may remain; retry or contact support. Verified email requests are processed within 30 days.

What is kept: purchase records are managed by Apple App Store or Google Play and may remain restorable under the relevant store account even after app data is deleted. Previously collected Firebase Crashlytics diagnostics and Firebase or Google Cloud operational and security logs may remain for their configured or standard retention periods and may contain pseudonymous account, app, device, or transaction identifiers. MyBookShelf also retains a minimal server-side deletion marker (the Firebase UID and deletion time) and hashed subscription ownership claims. These prevent a stale login token from recreating deleted data and allow a user-initiated store restore to reclaim a still-paid subscription without retaining the deleted library or raw store token.
